It’s not often that a festival comes along that keenly balances underground edge with offering something for everyone. But The Crave Festival, in the heart of The Hague, is building a reputation for just that.

The 2023 edition kicks off for another edition this weekend for another year of banging line-ups, escapist electronica in the lush Zuiderpark, irresistible stage design and all-round good vibes. Here’s six reasons to be there this year.

Get your tickets for The Crave Festival 2023 now, taking place 3 June at Zuiderpark, The Hague.

1. Enrich your electronic music knowledge (and look cool while doing it)

In case you didn’t know, The Hague has played a massively important role in the history of electronic music. For decades the city has brought together pioneers of the genre, with iconic labels, collectives, artists and institutes calling the city their home.

The Crave Festival pays homage to that heritage – all you have to do is turn up and dance.

2. There’ll be something for everyone in the friend group

Whether you’re into breaky beats or house, prefer your 4x4 techno or uptempo, want to dance to the best disco acts going, or have other dance cravings to satisfy, chances are you’ll find what you’re looking for somewhere across the festival’s five stages. Speaking of which – headliners include 999999999, VTSS, Octo Octa b2b Eris Drew, The Blessed Madonna, Hadone, Helena Hauff and Job Jobse. But the festival has enlisted a host of sparkling local artists too, including Falhaber, Mul/anna b2b KI/IP, Tafkamp, Spekki Webu, David Vunk and mad miran.

What’s more, you can also look out for live sets from Soichi Terada, Priori and KOSH, with  Barker & Jako Jako also swinging by for a hybrid set.

3. A main stage that perfectly suits golden hour

Hey, this is a safe space to admit it – everyone wants the money shot at a festival. And by money shot, I mean pre-sunset euphoria, no-filter-needed, main grid festival shots. Crave seems particularly aware of this, by virtue of the fact their CUBOID mainstage has been revamped into an irresistible, breathable, sunset-friendly pink and blue dreamscape. TCF are also launching a brand new uptempo techno mecca called TETRA. With high levels of attention-to-detail when it comes to sound design - plus, a bespoke light system by Studio Verlicht, it's also worth a visit for anyone touching down at the festival.

4. Another chance to witness HÖR sets IRL

Slime green king of streams HÖR made a Crave debut in 2022 – to such success that it’s back this year, bigger, better (and, hopefully, even slime green-ier). The new HÖR stage has been expanded with brand new stage and sound design – brace for electro, breaks, rave and techno. And yes, before you ask – the after party at PIP Den Haag will make a triumphant return, too (along with newly designed PIP stage on the festival grounds).

5. It’s an escape from the city

Though The Crave Festival takes place in a city, think again if you’re picturing a concrete jungle. In fact, to reach the action you’ll need to head into the gorgeously remote Zuiderpark – surrounded by trees, with its very own lake, and a 140-meter bridge which connects both ends of the festival.  Also, intriguingly, the festival mentions in its social media that “not everything is pinned on the map, so make sure to take every small path you see in the lush greenery of Zuiderpark”. Anyone else desperate for spoilers?

6. Best of all, you can wrap things up on a sandy dance floor

The Crave is now famous for its beachy final night, and this year’s coastal closing party takes place at Beachclub Indigo. DHC, SPRAY and VUUR with a side-serving of barefoot dancing – that’s a definitive yes please.

Good news - there are still The Crave Festival tickets available on TicketSwap. Grab yours now.
